Community Assistance Program Plus (CAP+)
This intensive and long term advisory program connects Smart Growth BC with community groups and local officials to create long-lasting smart growth solutions for more livable communities.
Through an intensive planning and design charrette process, Smart Growth on the Ground helps community members and their elected leaders design and build smarter, more sustainable neighbourhoods.
The Sea-to-Sky Greenbelt will be a world-renowned example of what can result from respecting our spectacular natural resources while enhancing community livability. We are working with communities from Lions Bay to Pemberton to direct development towards compact town centres surrounded by rich wildlife habitat, working lands, and a wealth of recreation opportunities.
Smart Growth BC's Affordable Housing Project
Smart Growth BC is launching a province-wide affordable housing policy reform project to advance more affordable market and non-market housing. We are currently undertaking research of existing policies and best practices around North America and preparing a comprehensive report of current practices. We will then host a workshop of local government and industry experts in the fall to help develop a set of priority actions and an implementation strategy. We will develop an "Affordable Housing Toolkit", and provide presentations, workshops and policy assistance to local government and industry to put policies and strategies in place. Our report will be done by early fall and available on our website.
