Smart Growth BC is a province-wide non-profit organization and a federally registered charity. The financial support we receive from the individuals, foundations, corporations, organizations and municipalities of British Columbia's diverse communities makes a big difference to the kinds of projects we can undertake, and is greatly appreciated.
By joining 1,000 Friends of BC starting at just $50 per year ($25 if you're a student), or $5 per month, you will receive our e-newsletter and a copy of our annual report.

Donate Publicly Traded Securities
Since May 2006 when the Federal
Government eliminated capital gains tax on gifts of publicly traded
securities, such as stocks, bonds or mutual fund units, this has become
the least expensive way to make a gift to Smart Growth BC.
If you own publicly traded
shares, bonds or mutual funds, you can donate them directly to Smart
Growth BC and save taxes. If you sell your appreciated securities, you
will incur capital gains tax. But, if you donate them to Smart Growth BC, you will eliminate the capital gains tax.
Smart Growth BC will issue a
donation receipt for the fair market value at closing on the day we
receive the securities. This receipt may provide additional tax savings
by offsetting tax payable on other income. Securities are equally
effective when given today or in the future through a bequest in your
will.

Become a Monthly Donor
Your monthly donation will provide Smart Growth BC with the ongoing support needed to sustain all of our ongoing projects to create livable communities in British Columbia. Monthly donations may be set up with a voided cheque or by credit card. You can stop payments at any time.

Leave a Legacy
